FAQs

What is a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)/Licensed Dietitian (LD)?

RDs or RDNs are health professionals with expertise in nutrition who can work wherever there is food and people! In the US, all RDs have completed an approved dietetic academic program (bachelors or masters degree), supervised practice hours, the national exam, and continuing education to keep up-to-date with their credentials. As Registered Dietitians, we provide personalized nutrition recommendations based on your health and personal goals. Each state has their own credentialing rules and many require state licensures (LD) to practice dietetics. Seeking nutrition advice from a non-credentialed individual can result in injury, frustration, and potentially harmful habits.

What can I expect in a typical nutrition support session?

Nutrition support packages start with a 60-minute initial virtual nutrition assessment appointment. During this session, we will review your nutrition and dietary needs, discuss your nutrition goals, and select a meal plan that works best for your needs. All 30-minute follow-up sessions will be used to review your nutrition and health needs, discuss any adjustments that might be made to your meal plan, and answer your nutrition questions. You'll have the opportunity to track your progress through the means that work best for you! If you are located near West Chester, Ohio, you will have access to a body composition analysis scale and coordination of progress with Uzima Rejuvenation care team members.

What virtual video services do you use?

For all virtual appointments, we use Google Meet which is free to all users and can be accessed from your computer, tablet, and/or phone. Virtual Appointments are available Tuesday-Thursday 10am-5pm with the exception of holidays and vacations. We will send you a video link when you book your appointment. Please test your video and microphone ahead of time to ensure that they are working properly.

Do we accept insurance?

At this time, we only accept self-pay for nutrition support sessions. We do not accept insurance since we do not provide reimbursable Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for specific medical conditions. If you need MNT services to treat a specific medical condition, please contact your Primary Care Provider for a referral or find one in your location at www.eatright.org/find-a-nutrition-expert.

What payment and refund options are available to me?

We accept all major credit cards through Stripe. Service package payment is requested upfront when booking a service. Partial or full refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Refunds for digitally downloaded products are not available since the products are sent instantly when you purchase them.

Do you have a rescheduling, cancellation, and late policy?

Yes, if you need to reschedule, cancel, or modify any previously booked nutrition support session, you will need to provide 24-hour notice directly to the Registered Dietitian via email at TheGlobalHarvestRD at gmail.com. “No shows” or cancellations that occur with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 100% of the value of the appointment and will be subject to an additional $50 fee. Subsequent “no shows” or cancellations without the required 24-hour notice may result in the discontinuation of nutrition support services. If you are 15 minutes or more late for any virtual session, you will not be refunded for that session. Please make sure that you add sessions to your preferred calendar so that you do not miss your session.
